On Tuesday, 28 September, we celebrate the World Rabies Day 2021 (WRD 2021) with this year’s theme: “Rabies: Facts, not Fear”. The WRD celebration every 28th day of September is both a commemoration and a collaboration towards a common goal of eradiacting rabies by 2030 (Zero by 30). While we commemorate the death anniversary of Louis Pasteur who developed the earliest vaccine used to effectively treat a human case in 1885, we stand in unity raising awareness to eliminate rabies globally [Read more here and here].

This year, CVM has organized several activities in support of the WRD 2021 celebration featuring the Virtual Rabies Forum on Wednesday, 29 September 2021. Join us and learn from our local experts: Dr. Eugene B. Lanada, DVM, MPhil, the Head of DVPCS, CVM, and Dr. Elwin Jay V. Yu, MD, our Chief of the VSU Hospital.
