Brief academic/work/professional background
Dr. Olana is an alumnus of the Visayas State University (2016). As a young faculty member of the College of Veterinary Medicine, he participated in researches on the epidemiology of economically important diseases. He had his master’s degree at the premiere University of the Philippines Los Baños specializing in veterinary epidemiology. His research interests include emerging infectious diseases, zoonoses and public health.

Interest
- Professional– Envisioned to inculcate knowledge to veterinary students relevant to the investigation and control of infectious diseases. Furthermore, he aims to share a wider perspective to students, colleagues and coworkers in view of the occurrence of zoonoses in the present natural circumstance.
- Research & Extension– Currently, he is working in part of the “Survey on the Prevalence of Selected Animal-Borne Zoonotic Bacterial, Fungal and Parasitic Agents and Associated Risk Factors” in Baybay City, Leyte, Philippines.
- Hobbies– He likes to travel, trek, cook and eat different types of food, read inspiring books, sing pop or RNB songs and watch movies.
